# Fix Cropping Issues in Cards and Lists

 ##

Cards and lists rely on consistent image crops to look professional. Without prep, images may appear stretched, cropped awkwardly, or padded with black bars.

## Why it matters

**Professionalism:** Sloppy crops undermine trust.

**Usability:** Important details, like faces or book covers, can be lost.

**Consistency:** A row of mismatched crops looks unpolished.

## How to do it

- For **50/50 Cards**, crop images square (1:1).
- For **Vertical Cards**, center focal points and add padding if needed.
- For **Publication covers**, crop tall covers into a square with padding above/below.
- Check how images display in list views and adjust exports accordingly.

## Accessibility tip

For portraits, alt text should include the person’s name and role.
