This tutorial helps you place calls-to-action where users are most likely to act. It helps guide users from information to action without disrupting the flow of a page.

Calls to action help users move from reading to doing. CTA is most effective when a user is ready to act. Harvard sites, offer components that encourage user action.

Call to action links work well when users only need a clear Next Step. Cards allow you to combine images, content, and actions into a single experience. When users may have different goals card-based actions can help them choose the right path.

A common mistake is placing too many calls-to-action on the same page. Place calls to action near the content that supports the decision to act. The best calls-to-action are relevant to the content, clearly labeled, and placed at the right moment. Effective calls-to-action guide users naturally toward meaningful next steps.
